On Saturday I went and ordered 4 dozen cupcakes from Coffee to a Tea for the rehearsal dinner, I got some more decorations at Michaels, and I got all the stuff to finish my pie toppers at Joann Fabrics. I got to spend the morning with my mom and sister which was nice. The weather was beautiful which put us all in good spirits and we were able to really enjoy the day. However I did learn that the stress of the wedding also has my mom crying at the drop of a hat, which I found out completely by accident when I started playing the wedding play list for her (gotta make sure the music is good) and noticing that she was crying. This turned into trying to find every sappy love song I could just to make her cry. Not my finest moment, but it was pretty darn funny.
I am not a horrible daughter, I did ask my mom why she was so stressed. She told me she just wants the wedding to be perfect. Having recently had those same thoughts I told her, “Then you have to be prepared to fail, because it is not going to perfect. Things are going to go wrong, but that is okay. In the end what matters is that Andy and I are there, surrounded by the people who mean the most to us.” Saying that to her reiterated what I have been trying to tell myself for the past few weeks. This wedding is not going to be perfect, and I am perfectly okay with that.
On Sunday, we went to the Issaquah Salmon Days. There were a ton of people there, but it was a lot of fun as usual. Andy got to show off his impressive knowledge about salmon to random strangers which is one of his favorite past times. At the hatchery there were volunteer hatchery docents and after the wedding I am thinking of looking into how a person becomes one. I think Andy would be perfect doing something like this. He would get to spend time outside talking about fish…life really couldn’t get much better for him than that. Again, the weather was perfect and after we refueled at Aztecas I was even able to talk everyone into some Geocaching. We tried to find one that Lindsay and I were unable to a couple weeks ago, but alas, we couldn’t find it this time either! My mom found one all on her own…which means I think Lindsay and I got her hooked to Geocaching!
