Last Weekend

Friday:
Friday meant the first early release of the summer at work, so I got to leave at 3:00pm. I went home and did some chores around the house until the evening when Andy, Jack and Jeremy went to watch a MMA fight in Kent. Since Kate and I found ourselves without or partners we decided to have a girl’s night out. We even managed to drag Lindsay out with us. We drove around for a bit talking about sex (women often do this when we get together in groups), bought some smelly lotion at Bath and Body Works, and ended up having drinks and appetizers at Red Robin. It was so much fun! Kate got drunk off one drink ( she doesn’t drink often) and we went back to her house where we watched Cadillac Records. A pretty good movie, but maybe a tad too serious for a girl’s night out.

Saturday:
Andy and I got up early to go running. Well, he went running and I walked around the track listening to a Savage Podcast. It was really a nice way to start out the morning. When we got home there was just enough time for us to get ready for the drag races! My mom had scored some free tickets through Boeing so Andy, Brad, Jack, Jeremy, Kate, and I went to the races. Let me just say that it was not my thing, in fact it was not any of our things. We stayed for about an hour and decided that we should do something else. Really, if you are not into cars, races are sort of boring and loud.

After the races, I went home and took a nap. I love taking naps. Then it was time to play some D&D!

Sunday:
Sunday was the Burien Strawberry Festival, which wasn’t as good as years past and Father’s Day Brunch at my parent’s house. Afterwards, my sister and I visited my grandma at the rehabilitation center/nursing home. It is hard to say how she is doing. She is refusing to do her physical therapy and her memory is still pretty shaky. There is talk of a family meeting in the near future to start making plans for my grandparents’ future. After visiting my grandma, Andy and I took another nap together on the couch (why were we so tired this weekend?) and met up with Kat, Jesse, John, Steph, and Ruth for Chinese food in Ballard. It was really fun. I only wish we were able to stay just a little bit longer, but alas we are all adults now and have j-o-b’s to go to on Monday.

I wonder what this weekend is going to be like?
