Andy and I are going to talk to his cousin who owns a mortgage business soon. We are also planning on talking to our bank about buying house. We are ready to do this…well at least we think we are, but we need people who better understand real estate to tell us if we are or not. I am very excited about this, but I am trying to not be too excited. I don’t want to get my hopes up, only to have the bank or Andy’s cousin tell us that this really isn’t the best time for us to buy a house. So I am trying to stay as neutral about the whole thing as I can.
This past weekend, Andy, Jeremy, and I drove around some areas that we are thinking about possibly buying a house in. A couple of the areas I re-fell in love with and one of the areas I was pleasantly surprised by. It is funny how you can grow up thinking a part of town is “the bad side” of town and so you feel like it is dangerous to go there. Driving around this area of town that I thought was “dangerous” I saw families, people running with their dogs, and kids playing in parks. None of these activities seem very dangerous to me.
Once we get a house our next step is to fill that house with…DOGS! Honestly, that is really why Andy and I want to buy a house. We want a dog, but that will quickly turn into at least 2 dogs. It would also be nice to live in an area where we can let our cats outside. I don’t like keeping them in the house all the time, but we live by such a busy street and people do not pay attention in our parking lot at all, that I feel it is much safer for our kitties to be inside.
