This past Saturday, I threw Andy a surprise birthday party. He turned 25 on August 14th and had mentioned earlier in the year that we never really do anything for his birthday. So I decided to throw him a huge party.
There were some ups and downs and the party didn't turn out to be as "huge" as I wanted it to be. But all in all, I think people enjoyed the party and Andy felt really special.
I have learned that when planning a surprise party, I cannot do it on my own. There needs to be someone in charge of invitations and nothing else. That was the most stressful part. So next time, I decorate, someone else does the inviting.
