Only four more days until I am on vacation!
I love road trips. Something about being in the car really brings people together. Some of the best conversations I have ever had have happened in a car. There were many times of rocky roommate patches between Stephanie and I that were cured by a long drive in the country signing, laughing and talking. I think it is because people feel a sense of privacy in a car. In some way I hope it will be like when Andy and I first got together (almost 6 years ago now). Like most new relationships, we would stay up way into the night talking and learning everything we possibly could about each other. A lot has happened for Andy and I in this past year, and hopefully this trip will allow us time to talk and reconnect. That boring cutesy relationship stuff aside, I am also totally excited about all the new experiences I am going to have. For god sakes I am going to be camping in an area that has brown bears, bison, elk, and I am sure some other animals that I am totally forgetting about at the moment. I freaking get to see Yellowstone! Who knows, maybe I will even learn how to pee outside.

I am trying to be good and not plan too much. I am really trying to let this trip be organic. This trip is about camping, fishing, laughing, meeting and getting better acquainted with family, seeing new things, and taking awesome pictures. Not planning has been hard for me which has meant like always, I am probably driving Andy insane with all my worries. I think if I bring up “bear attacks” one more time he may call off the whole trip. No joke.

On a totally different note, I was talking with a friend about my future plans in regards to school and work and life. Through the course of the conversation the idea came up that maybe I could wait to do my internship (required for my degree) until the very end of the program. Hopefully I could score an internship at a community college somewhere on the Oregon or Washington coast and possibly live at Andy’s parents’ house to save money. It is a dream of ours (Andy and me) to live in the Astoria area. I think eventually Andy has visions of opening a fly shop of some sort there. So that is an idea I am toying around with.

***Why the state flags? Because silly, those are states Andy and I will be traveling through on our road trip.
