I have some things to be happy about
*Andy had his 6 month check-in with his oncologist and all his test came back clean! This is a such a relief. I had no idea how stressful it had been for us until we got the all clear. It seems weird, but it actually felt like a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders. I can only imagine how Andy must feel. He and I are no longer tip toeing around each other. We are no longer set off by the tiniest thing. Our cats are no longer looking at us like we are crazy people. Bliss!
*We are dangerously close to being about half way through the medical bills. We just finished paying of all the little doctor’s and other miscellaneous fees. Now it is the big radiation bill that we are working towards.
*We have moved my grandfather into a retirement community. He has quite the bachelor pad and as far as I can tell, he really seems to be liking the change so far. Who wouldn’t?! He can shower for the first time in who knows how long. He has a dishwasher for the first time in his life and his roof doesn’t have holes in it! Wins all the way around.
*Exactly a month from today, Andy and I will be on our way to Denver, CO. Most likely at this time we will be somewhere in Idaho. I am so excited for this road trip. We will be driving through parts of the country I have never seen. I will be camping in places where bears are an actual thing to worry about (at least I will be). I will get to see Yellowstone National Park. Living in Burien, we are surrounded by my family. I think Andy is really looking forward to a reversal of things. He totally gets along with my family (in some ways, better than I do), so I hope his family likes me. I have met a few of them at the wedding and I think we meshed fairly well, so I have high hopes.
*I am making soap this weekend with Quinn. I am a little nervous because we will be using lye and I can’t help but think about Fight Club. I better have some vinegar on hand. Quinn wants to make coconut milk soap, which is something different then what we made the last time. This should be interesting.
*And the last thing that is making me happy is that it has finally effing cooled down! I know this is going to bother some people, but I want rain. A nice summer rain to refresh everything would be wonderful.
