Mud bugs and other such things

At the end of my vacation I was ready to come home. Lindsay and I had been sharing a room for far too long and we were starting to get short and snappy with each other. I was tired of eating deep fried foods and I needed to drink some water desperately (everywhere we went there was soda; soda as far as the eye could see). But today, as I am sitting in my house watching the sun go in and out of the clouds, I can't help but look at the photos from my trip and miss Louisanna. I mean just look at this;

The sun recharged my system and realized just how stressed work and school has made me. My aunt, sister, and I drove around and explored the state of Louisanna (and a little bit of Mississippi). We laughed and laughed and lauged until we were crying and having a hard time catching our breath. Lindsay (the one with all the stomach problems) tried every sort of "southern" food she could get her hands on. I stuck to tame entrees such as fried green tomatoes and fried pickles (both of which are delicious).

We walked around the French Quarter and marveled at the beautiful iron work that was on all the buildings. We walked through cemetaries and were overcome with how different life and death are in the south.

When I started this vacation I wanted to get off the plane and feel like I had come home. I don't know if I will ever think of it as home, but I definitly will always feel like going back.
