Bus Thoughts

People often wonder if I like riding the bus to work. There are parts of bus riding that I really dislike. For instance, today someone with horrible garlic breath sat behind me so during the whole bus ride I was being fumigated with their stentch. That was not fun. Sometimes there are immature people on the bus that can make the ride not that fun and in general I don't like the fact that it takes me over an hour to get home, when the couple times I have driven myself I have made it home in a half hour. But there are some redeeming things about the bus.

I like waiting for the bus in the mornings when things are quiet. I like knowing that on Thursdays the bus driver doesn't want me to slide my bus pass, he perfers that I just show it to him. I look foward to seeing people get on the bus that I recognize; bike dude, gay guy, hispanic mullet man, goth chick, blonde woman. I really appreciate not having to put up with traffic and being able to sit and watch the world go by as someone else does the driving for me. These things (plus the money I am saving not filling up my gas tank every two weeks) are what keep me riding the bus.
